Brand & Competitor Monitoring

Know what is said about your brand
and your competitors — every day

You give us the watchlist. We collect the comments, build the dashboard, and message you when something moves.

Not a tool login and not a monthly PDF. An operated pipeline into a dashboard we build around the metrics your team reviews — priced per brand, platform and cadence, quoted in chat.

Send the brand list and cadence — you get scope and a number in the same conversation.

What Lands In Your Hands

Four deliverables, every cycle

Concretely: a dataset you can query, a dashboard you can open, alerts you can act on, and a cadence you never have to run.

Dataset

The raw rows, not a summary

Every comment we collect arrives with author, username, avatar_url, text, likes, replies, created_at, language, is_pinned, id and reply_to_id — plus every extra field the platform itself returns. Same columns our exporter ships, so you can re-cut any number yourself.

Dashboard

A live view built around your questions

We scope the tiles with you — comment volume per brand, sentiment split, share of voice, top themes, creator leaderboard, week-over-week deltas — then build and host it. One URL for the team, refreshed on your cadence.

Alerts

A message when something actually moves

Two kinds. Event alerts fire the moment a run finds something new — a competitor published a post, a tracked post crossed a comment count, a keyword appeared for the first time. Threshold alerts fire on a metric you set: negative sentiment over a line, engagement outside its usual range, a complaint theme rising. Both land in WhatsApp or Slack with the post link and the exact comments that triggered them.

Cadence

Scheduled: new posts, then new comments

Each run checks every watched account and hashtag for posts published since the last run, then re-reads every tracked post for comments added since the last run. New posts and new comments are flagged as new rows — you get the delta, not the same 18,000 rows again. Daily, weekly or monthly; we own the retries, platform changes and backfills.

Exactly What We Collect

Public data, down to the row

We run our own exporter — the same collection layer thousands of people use on this site every week. Monitoring is that layer pointed at your watchlist on a schedule, so there is no mystery about where the numbers come from.

Comment row, every platform
author, username, avatar_url, text, likes, replies, created_at, language, is_pinned, id, reply_to_id

Plus every platform-specific field returned by the source, in the same file.

Comments & replies

Full comment threads including nested replies, with likes, timestamps, language and pinned status per row. This is the layer most monitoring tools skip — they count posts, not what people actually said underneath them.

Posts & captions

Post lists per account or hashtag: caption, publish time, engagement counts, and video transcripts where the platform has them — so you can see the message, not just the metric.

Audience & creator profiles

Who is commenting: handle, follower scale, and AI-estimated age, gender and country inferred from profile and comment language. Run on your brand and on each competitor for an audience overlap read.

Sentiment & themes

AI pass over every comment for sentiment and recurring topics, so "1,400 comments" becomes "38% asking about price, 11% complaining about shipping, rising".

What A Mention Looks Like

Every customer who names your product, captured as a row

Comments mentioning your brand, your product names, or a competitor's — pulled from the post they sit under, tagged for sentiment and theme, and linked back to the original. Every watchlist hit is highlighted in the text, so you see why a row was captured. Example feed below uses a fictional brand and placeholder avatars.

In your delivery each of these is a row with the full comment fields plus the post URL, plus a matched_terms column carrying every watchlist hit — so “everyone who mentioned a competitor this week” is one filter, not a manual read.

Versus A Big Listening Suite

Why teams pick us over an enterprise platform

The big suites sell you software and a login. We sell the finished data work — and we go deeper into comments, because that is the layer we already operate.

Enterprise listening suiteZocialComment, managed
What you are buyingA tool licence. Your team logs in, builds the queries, and reads the output. An operated service. We build the watchlist, run the collection, and send you the result.
Comment-level depthCoverage is shaped by what each platform licences them. Comment threads under a post are often sampled, capped, or missing entirely.Full public comment threads including replies, row by row, from the exporter we run ourselves.
CommitmentTypically an annual contract with seat minimums, signed before you see your own data.Quoted per scope, month-to-month or per campaign. We can run a sample pull before you commit.
Time to first dataProcurement, onboarding and query training — usually weeks.Send the watchlist in chat. First pull is normally days.
A platform they do not coverA feature request on someone else's roadmap. We write the scraper for it — marketplaces, app stores, forums, niche sites.
DashboardTheir template. Anything bespoke is a professional-services line item.Built to the metrics your team actually reviews, included in the scope we quote.
The raw dataLives in their platform; export is bounded by the plan.Yours. CSV, Excel, JSON, or straight into your warehouse, every cycle.
Who does the workYou hire or reassign an analyst to drive it.Us. You brief priorities and read the output.

Where a suite genuinely wins: global news, broadcast and forum coverage at enterprise scale, with procurement, SSO and compliance paperwork. If that is the brief, buy one — several of our clients run us alongside theirs for the comment layer it does not reach.

How The Quote Works

Quoted to your watchlist, not a tier list

Monitoring two competitors on one platform weekly and monitoring twelve brands across five platforms daily are not the same job, so they are not the same price. Tell us the scope and we quote it — one-time build plus a monthly run, or a fixed-term campaign engagement.

  • How many brands and competitors are on the watchlist
  • Which platforms, and whether any need a custom scraper
  • Refresh cadence — daily, weekly, or monthly
  • Dashboard scope: our hosted dashboard, or a feed into your own BI tool
  • Whether alerting and a human read-out are included
  • Historical backfill, if you need the past few months as a baseline
Questions

Before you brief us

What exactly do you deliver?

Three things, every cycle: the raw dataset (CSV, Excel, JSON or straight into your warehouse), a dashboard that stays live on that dataset, and alerts in your WhatsApp or Slack when a tracked metric moves. Nothing is a one-off PDF you cannot query.

Which platforms can you monitor?

TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, Lemon8 and Google Reviews are already live in our own exporter. Anything else public on the web — marketplaces, app stores, news, forums — we build a scraper for and monitor the same way.

What data do you collect per post?

For every comment: author, username, avatar URL, text, likes, reply count, timestamp, language, pinned flag, comment ID and reply-to ID — plus every platform-specific field the platform returns. Post-level metrics and creator profile data come with it.

How often do you refresh?

Daily, weekly or monthly, whichever you brief. Campaign weeks are usually daily; always-on competitor tracking is usually weekly.

Do you catch new posts, or only the ones we list?

Both. We watch the accounts and hashtags you name, so any post they publish between runs is picked up automatically and added to the tracked set — you do not send us URLs each week. You can also pin specific posts to follow long-term.

Do you re-collect the same comments every run?

No. Each run pulls only comments added since the last run, matched on comment ID, so the dataset grows by the delta and a new-comment count is a real number rather than a re-count. Full re-reads happen on request for a backfill or when a platform changes its threading.

Can you monitor competitors who are not our clients?

We collect public posts, public comments and public profile data only — the same information any visitor to the platform can see. We do not touch private accounts, DMs or anything behind a login.

Will the brands we monitor know?

No. We read public pages; there is no follow, like, comment or notification of any kind generated by monitoring.

Do we get the dashboard or do you keep it?

You get a URL your whole team can open, for as long as the engagement runs. We host and maintain it. If you would rather have it inside your own BI tool, we feed Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau or BigQuery instead.

What does it cost?

It is quoted, not listed — price follows the number of brands, the platforms, the refresh cadence and how much dashboard work is involved. Message us with the brand list and cadence and you get a number in the same chat.

How is this different from a big social listening platform?

A listening suite sells software: you get a login, build the queries and staff an analyst. We sell the finished work, and we go deeper on comments — full public threads including replies, as rows — because we operate the collection layer ourselves rather than licensing a feed. No annual contract, and a sample pull before you commit. For global news and broadcast coverage at enterprise scale, a suite is still the right buy; some teams run both.

Can you take over monitoring we already started?

Yes. If you already have sheets, scripts or a half-built dashboard, we adopt it, fix the collection layer and run it from there.

How do we start?

Send us the brands and competitors you want watched, the platforms, and how often. We come back with scope, cadence and a quote — no forms, no sales call.

Send us the watchlist

Brands, competitors, platforms, cadence. We come back with scope and a quote — and, if it helps, a first sample pull so you can see the rows before you commit.
